Professional Drug and Alcohol Intervention Support From Philadelphia to Pittsburgh

When addiction takes control of a loved one’s life, the entire family is affected. Conversations become arguments. Promises are repeatedly broken. Family members disagree about what to do, and everyone becomes exhausted from trying to manage a situation that continues getting worse.

Addiction Treatment Group provides structured, confidential intervention services throughout Pennsylvania. Families work directly with James “Jim” Reidy, Certified Intervention Professional, CIP #10266, to develop a clear plan, prepare for the intervention, coordinate appropriate treatment, and guide their loved one toward accepting help.

For nearly 15 years, Jim Reidy has helped Pennsylvania families respond to alcoholism, opioid addiction, fentanyl, heroin, prescription drug misuse, cocaine, methamphetamine, benzodiazepines, polysubstance use, chronic relapse, and co-occurring mental health concerns.

All calls are free and confidential.

A Premier Pennsylvania Intervention Company

Addiction Treatment Group has deep roots throughout Pennsylvania.

From Philadelphia, Bucks County, Montgomery County, Chester County, and Delaware County to Hanover, York, Lancaster, Harrisburg, State College, Pittsburgh, Erie, and the surrounding communities, families call us when private conversations and repeated promises are no longer creating change.

A professional intervention is not an angry confrontation or an attempt to shame someone into treatment. It is a carefully planned process designed to:

  • Unite the family around one consistent plan
  • End secret agreements and conflicting messages
  • Address enabling and unhealthy family patterns
  • Present the truth calmly and respectfully
  • Establish clear, realistic boundaries
  • Prepare treatment before the intervention occurs
  • Create an immediate path from the intervention into care

Preparation matters. A family should never begin an intervention without knowing exactly what will happen if their loved one accepts help—and what boundaries will take effect if treatment is refused.

When Should a Pennsylvania Family Consider an Intervention?

Families do not have to wait for an overdose, arrest, job loss, divorce, hospitalization, or complete personal collapse before taking action.

A professional intervention may be appropriate when:

  • Your loved one denies or minimizes the seriousness of the problem
  • Alcohol or drug use continues despite medical, legal, financial, or family consequences
  • Previous treatment attempts have ended in relapse
  • The family is divided about what to do
  • Children or vulnerable adults are being affected
  • Family members are providing money, housing, transportation, or protection that unintentionally supports continued use
  • Your loved one repeatedly promises to stop but cannot sustain the change
  • The situation is becoming medically or emotionally dangerous
  • The family needs immediate treatment guidance and a structured plan

You do not need your loved one’s permission to begin preparing. The initial work takes place with the family.

How the Intervention Process Works

Confidential Family Assessment

The process begins with a private conversation about the substance use, medical concerns, treatment history, family relationships, immediate risks, and events that have brought the family to this point.

Family Preparation

Jim helps determine who should participate and how each person can contribute. The family learns how to communicate without arguing, threatening, blaming, bargaining, or rescuing.

Treatment Planning

An intervention should never begin without a realistic treatment option already identified. Addiction Treatment Group helps the family consider detoxification, residential treatment, dual-diagnosis care, clinical needs, insurance coverage, location, and previous treatment experiences.

The Intervention

The family presents a unified message of love, concern, truth, and accountability. Jim directs the conversation, manages resistance, and keeps the meeting focused on one objective: helping the intended patient accept treatment.

Admission and Safe Transition

When treatment is accepted, the admission and transportation plan can be activated immediately. This reduces delay, confusion, second thoughts, and opportunities for addiction to regain control.
